Webinar
Thermal Characterization of Advanced Materials for Aerospace
Brought to you by TA Instruments – Waters Corporation and Aerospace Testing International
Enhancing Aerospace Materials Through Thermal Analysis
As aerospace materials chemistry and technology continue to advance, precise and insightful materials characterization is critical to meeting the demanding performance requirements of mission-critical components. This need is driving the rapid integration of high-performance thermosets, thermoplastic composites, advanced additive chemistries, and other cutting-edge technologies. To optimize material performance and refine processing techniques, it is essential to evaluate key thermal and thermomechanical properties—including thermal stability, coefficient of thermal expansion, glass transition temperature, melting point, and specific heat capacity.
What You’ll Learn:
- How TGA enables compositional analysis and thermal stability assessment
- Measuring the linear coefficient of thermal expansion using TMA
- Exploring advanced heat flow modes with DSC
- Identifying glass transition temperatures with DSC
- Leveraging Modulated DSC for deeper insights into polymer behavior
Through real-world examples involving polymeric and composite materials, you’ll gain practical insights into how these methods support aerospace innovation.
