Introducing the Coin Cell Differential Scanning Calorimeter
The newest innovation in battery safety testing
Evaluate Battery Safety Early and Efficiently
The Waters TA Instruments Coin Cell DSC gives battery developers a faster, more reliable way to evaluate safety and stability early in R&D. Purpose built for complete 20 mm coin cells, its wide temperature range, spanning –80 to 600 °C, reveals how batteries behave from extreme cold to catastrophic thermal events, enabling deeper insight into chemistry stability. With integrated options for evolved gas analysis and voltage monitoring, it shows how materials interact as a complete system, helping you design safer, more stable batteries with confidence.
Ready to see the Coin Cell DSC in action? Watch the video to explore:
- Whole Cell Thermal Truth – Directly measure heat flow and reaction behavior of intact coin cells for realistic safety and performance insights.
- Exceptional Repeatability – High sensitivity 20 mm sensors and battery specific capsules ensure consistent, trustworthy onset temperature detection across runs.
- Complete Chemical Visibility – Connect MS, FTIR, or GC-MS to identify decomposition gases and understand failure pathways in detail.
- Electrochemical Correlation – Integrated voltage monitoring links thermal events to state of charge, shorts, and cycling behavior for deeper diagnostics.
- Earlier, Safer Decisions – Generate actionable data in early development to reduce redesigns, accelerate validation, and improve battery stability.
